Rika Nakayama

Rika Nakayama is a filmmaker/animator from Japan, specializing in stop-motion, 2D, and experimental animation. Her works often draw inspiration from nature, memories, and sensory experiences, utilizing tactile materials to express intangible feelings. Materiality is a fundamental element of her work in telling stories and emotions. Rika holds a BFA in Illustration and Film/Animation/Video from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Experimental Animation from the California Institute of the Arts. 

神奈川県出身のアニメーション映像作家。素材や手法によって生み出される視覚的感覚や意味を追求し、自然現象や記憶、抽象的体験をアニメーションで表現する。ストップモーション、2D、実験的作品など幅広く制作。
